Truly, Community is Strenght!

Grinding is not the way to build a solid community. So when statements like WAGMI, Wen Mint date? Wen WL?, and LFG are constantly the only conversations made within a community.

You can almost tell this really isn’t a solid community, it’s just a flood of spam words from people looking to get something out of the project.

Grinding words are a first sign to spot a community that has no central focus, isn’t interested in what the project and the team are building, is simply there for price action and will dump floor at any given opportunity.

Grinding is not the way to build a solid community. You Build a community around shared Values and goals that both the team and the community resonate with.

When building a community, founders should look forward to connecting with people who love the tech behind web3, are really interested in the possibilities of Web3, Love the project and the solution the team is working on, and are solely there to be a part of something bigger than them.

This type of community differs from the first because they resonate and share similar values with what the team is building and want to be a part of it. They are not coerced with flashy giveaways and promotions.

Building a Solid and Engaging Community requires Trust. And Trust requires understanding. And Understanding requires communication. Well, Communication takes time. Still, all this should be present within the project.

A community is only possible because of people (rather than bots), which means, that if you want to build an engaging community, you need the people to be engaged around the values they appreciate and active within the server or media space.

For that to happen, you have to be clear and concise about the Idea of what the community stands for. This will help set the theme of the community and straightaway acts as the first level of filter for people who do not fit into the community you are building.

A solid community is really an important factor for any project, here are the key factors to establish when building a really cohesive community.

A. The actual theme of the community,

What is the actual theme of your project, and what is it about? is it a Gamefi or Defi project or NFT project?

using a Oneliner, clearly state what your project is about. If you can’t expressly state it, you need to go back to the drawing board.

B. The Goal behind the community

What is the exact solution you and the team are looking to build? What problem does it Solve? What is the benefit to the Community and the industry in general?

C. The Values you’re looking to uphold

Are you looking to build a community around vibes; where anything goes? or Build a community where mutual respect, kindness, partnership, love etc are underlining values?

If yes, then it’s important to set the tone. Show it and also be very vocal about these values — especially while you are Marketing.

D. The benefit People get for being part of it

What are the benefits of being part of the community? Why should people anticipate spending time in your community and not in other places?

Simply put, What is in it for them? And how do you intend to offer this benefit to them?

Figuring these things out early and relating them back to the community will help build a community where people are genuinely helpful and properly in line with what the project is all about; Organic and interesting conversation would be effortless.

Values Bind Strong Communities

Next after figuring out these values is Clearly stating them to your community. Let them know this is how things work within the community. Without rules and laws, we’d be a bunch of animals, right?

This also applies to your community. Now that these rules have been stated. It’s left for you and the Team (Mods inclusive) to act them and truly live them out. It is important that these values reflect in all your marketing documents, social media branding etc.

Consistency builds patterns and patterns build habits (habits are the way we live).

When you take out time to set these things up in your community, engagement strategies like events (Movie Nights, Karaoke Nights, Music and Chills), AMAs, and giveaways would be effortless and help the already existing bond within the community.
